i. PMV Association
The DoT realised the control of about 1000 individual PMV bus operators and over 500 taxi operators has been a huge tasks.  Thus, DoT has encouraged the formation of an association with Office Bearers been elected.  DoT believes control will be eased greatly as the PMV Associations will be the body accountable to DoT.

ii. PMV Ticketing
The DoT with the assistance from the PMV Ticketing Company is currently planning to introduce Passenger tickets and other relevant facilities.  It is anticipated that it will eliminate the problem of collecting bus fares (hard cash) and the risk of hold-ups.  It may also encourage buses to complete their designated routes, as most commuters tend to pay less than the recommended full fare or compromise.

iii. Amendment of Relevant Acts
Review of existing regulations to make them more strident and appropriate to current situations and environment is important.  Imposing heavier fines to deter traffic offenders are being initiated.  Authoritative powers for the Chairman of the NLTB and the SOMT to cancel default licenses are also being reviewed by the DoT Legal Team.

iv. Upgrading Enforcement
In addition to Point 2.4, DoT has deployed twenty (20) Police Reservists especially to combat the ongoing defective/unroadworthy PMVs on the public streets using the Arresting powers and amours (guns).
